ÖMKi - Research Institute of Organic Agriculture
ÖMKi, a relatively young, independent research institute in Hungary dedicated to organic farming, has gained increasing impact both domestically and internationally since its founding in 2011. Besides establishing the participatory on-farm research network awarded the title of "living laboratory" as a member of the European Network of Living Labs (ENoLL), ÖMKi has got lately involved in participatory as well as evolutionary breeding activities with cereals. Starting first with testing, then selecting and finally producing organic heterogenous materials and later maybe organic varieties became our way for breeding, to contribute to improved organic seed supply and more secure organic production in Hungary.
